Exclusion Criteria

A. Exclusion of any other cause of liver disease other than H C V (by liver biopsy)

B. Exclusion of co-infection with HBV

C. Exclusion of hemochromatosis (by liver Biopsy)

D. Exclusion of alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency (by liver biopsy )

E. Exclusion of Wilson's disease (by liver biopsy)

F. Exclusion of autoimmune disease (ANA)

G. Exclusion of alcoholic liver disease

H. Exclusion of decompensated liver disease

I. Exclusion of hypersensitivity to interferon or Ribavirin

J. Exclusion of any other condition which in the judgment of investigator disqualifies the patient from entering the protocol

K. Exclusion of pregnancy or breast feeding

L. Exclusion of poorly controlled diabetes

M. Exclusion of clinically significant retinal abnormalities

N. Exclusion of obesity -induced liver disease 

O. Exclusion of drug- related liver disease

P. Exclusion of CNS trauma which requires medication

Q. Exclusion of active seizures which requires medication

R. Exclusion of ischemic cardiovascular disease within the last 6 months

S. Exclusion of immunologically mediated disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn,s disease .ITP. SLE autoimmune hemolytic anemia, scleroderma , severe psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis)

T. Exclusion of patients with organ transplants

 U. Exclusion of substance abuse (alcohol >80gm/d) iv drugs and inhaled drugs

V. If past history of substance abuse abstention for      the post 12 months?

W. Exclusion of amantadine ,flumantadine, steroids,    siercide, and/or immunosuppressive drugs

X. Exclusion of sever pre- existing psychiatric conditions

Y. Exclusion of any history of manic element associated to prior psychiatric history
